Mick Goodrick has inspired countless improvisers over five decades in his Boston-based Teaching practice. Some of his students include Bill Frisell, John Scofield, Mike and Leni Stern, Lionel Loueke, and Nir Felder. In addition to his teaching Mick has also been an acclaimed performer, both as a solo artist and with Gary Burton, Pat Metheny, John Abercrombie, Jerry Bergonzi, and others.
Now in his mid-70's we honor this pioneer with some of his students and those inspired by him.
The artists will perform duo and solo music inspired by Mick's legacy. The live performance will feature a first-ever duo with Julian Lage and Europe's premier jazz guitarist, Wolfgang Muthspiel in a rare visit from Austria.
