Mark Soskin was born July 12th,1953 in Brooklyn, N.Y Soskin recorded and performed with such diverse musicians such as Sonny Rollins,Joe Henderson, Billy Cobham ,Stanley Turrentine , Joe Locke, Herbie Mann, Gato Barbieri and David “Fathead”Newman, Pete and Sheila Escovedo, The NY Voices and others. Soskin attended Colorado State University and later attended The Berklee College of Music. Soskin did a tour and live recording with the CBS All Stars which led to his debut recording “Rhythm Vision” produced by Orrin Keepnews. Soskin was in the band of Sonny Rollins for over 15 years. He has done over 15 recording of his own and is currently with the Steeplechase label. Mark presently teaches at Manhattan School of Music where he has been teaching for over 20 years.
