In Reel Life, Director Michael Goldburg

An award-winning filmmaker with a truly fresh voice, MICHAEL GOLDBURG is known for his unique comedic sensibility and skill at moving seamlessly between multiple genres of storytelling. As a maker of films, episodic, and commercial content, Michael is also known for his celebrated work with actors and his assured sense of cinematic style. After making his mark at NYU's Graduate Film Program where he won a Warner Bros. Pictures Production Award and a Dean's Craft Award for Excellence, Michael has gone on to other acclaimed work, including his award-winning horror-comedy, WHAT'S EATING DAD?, which streams on Amazon Prime, and TRAGIC RELIEF, a darkly funny, award-winning web series by writers from The Onion and Comedy Central, featured on Funny or Die.

Michael’s short film version of his upcoming feature comedy, SURE-FIRE, has screened at numerous film festivals and won multiple awards. His feature script for SURE-FIRE was a Finalist in the Beverly Hills Screenplay Contest and Quarter-Finalist in the Shore Scripts Screenplay Competition. Michael’s team for the SURE-FIRE feature includes Cowan, DeBaets, Abrahams & Sheppard as production counsel (“The Kids Are All Right,” “Winter’s Bone”) as well as advisor Joe Pirro, Head of Production at Symbolic Exchange (James Schamus' company), who considers Michael “part of the next wave of talented filmmakers to break through to wider audiences." Michael is the recipient of an AIVF Screenwriting Mentorship and is also developing a feature adaptation of a darkly comic novel set in suburbia written by the former book editor of "The Chicago Tribune.” Michael is a co-founder of the Brooklyn-based Directors Collective NYC and lives in New York City.
