Misha Piatigorsky featuring special guest Alita Moses

Misha Piatigorsky is a vibrant jazz pianist, composer and producer, hailed by the Boston Globe as the artist who “beautifully merges the worlds of serious jazz and pop,” — Misha blends powerful melodies with an unusual harmonic sensitivity. It's a sound with a deeply personal yet cosmopolitan dimension, reflecting his experience as a Russian-Jewish émigré growing up in urban America. The great nephew of legendary cellist Gregor Piatigorsky, with international upbringing followed by international acclaim, he works in New York City to advance the modern jazz sound beyond the standards. He leads a number of projects including his Trio and The Sketchy Orkestra – his innovative ensemble some 20 people strong.

Recording artist Alita Moses is a virtuosic vocalist, songwriter, and entertainer. Alita’s talents have taken her all over the world, both as a performer and as a teaching artist. She has performed with a long list of household names in both the jazz and pop worlds, including legends like Shawn Mendes, Al Jarreau, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Chris Botti, Cynthia Erivo, and Vic Mensa. She also frequently collaborates with her contemporaries, and is the front woman in NYC for Gideon King and City Blog (a fusion collective), Lohai (a Brooklyn-based soul/electronic duo), and her own self-titled project reminiscent of Emily King and Lianne La Havas. After becoming the youngest ever winner of the 2014 Shure Montreux Jazz Vocal Competition, Alita began to hit the festival circuit. She has performed at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, the Montreux Jazz Festival, the BUAP Festival, Jazz De Verano, and many more. She began her performance career at the young age of 14 as a featured guest with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, and has since been featured with several orchestras, big bands, and chamber groups around the globe. Whether on stage or in the studio, Alita brings a natural warmth to each performance and astounds audiences with grace, soul, and a musical maturity beyond her years.
