Ned Rothenberg's new quartet is an exciting departure. He has appeared twice previously with Sylvie Courvoisier at Soapbox and is thrilled this time to add the unique (she has to be, she's on Nonesuch!) guitarist Mary Halvorson and superb drummer Tomas Fujiwara. Rothenberg has been internationally acclaimed for both his solo and ensemble music, presented for the past 40 years on 5 continents. He performs primarily on alto saxophone, clarinet, bass clarinet, and the shakuhachi - an endblown Japanese bamboo flute.
