Ramon Carrero-Martinez-violin, Sila Sentürk-piano.

Sila Senturk was selected as a prize winner in Bilkent Piano Festival 2018, the first time to be awarded in Middle-East by world’s most prestigious piano brand, Steinway&Sons. In 2019, Sila was also awarded with San Giacomo FestivalPrize in Lunigiana International Music Festival and she is expected to give a recital in Bologna, Italy in 2020.

Currently 20-year-old, Senturk, continues her studies in Manhattan School of Music as a student of Marc Silverman.

She started her studies with the discovery of her musical talent at the age of 4. Pursuing her passion, Senturk was accepted to Bilkent University Music and Ballet Preparatory School and became a student of Aylin Ozugur. In 2017, she graduated from Bilkent University Music Preparatory High School as the valedictorian. During her years at Bilkent, she studied with Deren Eryılmaz, Dr. Elif Önal, and Dr. Yoonie Han.

She was an active participant for world-famous pianist's masterclasses, such as Stanislav Ioudenitch, Eduardus Halim, Boaz Sharon, Roland Krüger, Mi-Joo Lee, Marcella Crudeli, Misha Dacic, Mauricio Vallina, Gabriel Baldocci, Edna Golandsky, Ilya Itin, Kemal Gekic and Jean-Bernard Pommier. Senturk also participated and gave concerts in Antalya Piano festival, Saygun Classical Music Festival, Bilkent Piano Festival, Gümüşlük Piano Festival Chetham’s Summer School for Pianists, Princeton University Golandsky Institute Summer Symposium and The Taubman Approach in Europe Workshop Series. She was a piano fellow for Lunigiana International Music Festival. In 2017, She performed M. Ravel's G Major Piano Concerto with Eskisehir State Symphony. In between 2013-2014 she participated at International Chopin Piano Competition For Youth and Children in Poland and she won the first prize at Valetta International Piano Competition in Malta.

Sila Senturk has been giving concerts as a soloist and a chamber musician in Turkey, Europe and the United States. Her most recent concerts took place in venues such as Harvard Club of New York, Steinway & Sons Hall, Pickman Hall and Istanbul Maltepe Cultural Foundation Center.

Venezuelan violist Ramón Carrero-Martínez has won competitions in Italy, the US and Venezuela, including first prize in the Maria Paula Alonzo Chamber Music Competition in Caracas with the Teresa Carreño String Quartet, First Prize in Ruth Widder String Quartet competition 2018 in NYC and Lunigiana International Music Festival 2019 Concerto Competition.

Recent engagements include performances as a guest violist with the American String Quartet, US tour with the Mark Morris Dance Group Music Ensemble performing Schubert’s Trout Quintet, debut as a soloist with the Stamitz viola concerto in Italy and Korean Tour with the New York Classical Players.

He was principal violist of the Teresa Carreño Youth Orchestra of Venezuela and has performed with orchestras such as the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra, Metropolis Ensemble, New York Classical Players, among others. He has being under the baton of world renowned conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Simon Rattle, Gustavo Dudamel, Leonard Slatkin, Benjamin Zander, among others.

His festival appearances include the Beethoven Fest in Germany, Salzburg Festival and Esterhazy String Quartet Festival in Austria, Musica Mundi International Chamber Music Festival where he performed Schumann’s Piano Quartet with pianist Menahem Pressler in Belgium, International Program Artist in Music@Menlo 2017 in Atherton and Lunigiana International Music Festival in Tuscany, Italy 2019.

His teaching experience includes serving on the viola faculty at the San Antonio Summer Classical Music Institute and as a violin/viola and string instructor at UpBeat and Orchestrating Dreams NYC both of these programs are inspired by the philosophy of Venezuela’s “El Sistema”.

Mr. Carrero-Martinez was member of “El Sistema” and previously studied economics in Venezuela. He is currently pursuing his Master of Music degree at Manhattan School of Music where he is a student of Daniel Avshalomov and previously completed his Bachelor of Music degree.
