ROB SCHWIMMER is a composer-pianist/keyboardist, thereminist, and Haken Continuum player. His latest album “Heart of Hearing” was named #4 in Slate’s “Best Jazz of 2019.” His first album “Theremin Noir” (2000) with Uri Caine and Mark Feldman stands as an early theremin album of written music and improvisation. His Haken Continuum recording sessions include Paul Simon and Esperanza Spalding (on her Grammy winning “12 Little Spells”). He has worked with Simon & Garfunkel, Wayne Shorter, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Bobby McFerrin, Willie Nelson, Paul Simon, Gotye, Esperanza Spalding, The Boston Pops, Chaka Khan, Laurie Anderson, Noah Preminger, Arif Mardin, Stevie Wonder, Adam Guettel, Paul Bley, T-Bone Walker, Sam Rivers, Christian Marclay, Matthew Barney, Ang Lee, Maria Schneider, Ethan Iverson, Mark Morris Dance Group, The Orchestra of St. Luke’s, The Klezmatics, Mary Cleere Haran, Kelsey Lu, Bernie Worrell, Annette Peacock, Gwyneth Paltrow, Mabou Mines, Geoffrey Holder, Trey Anastasio, John Cale, Steve Buscemi, Iva Bittova, Theo Bleckmann, John Stubblefield, The Roches, Jack Quartet, David Krakauer, Teo Macero, Hal Willner, Vernon Reid, The Everly Brothers, Kurt Vonnegut, Odetta, Joseph Jarman, Alwin Nikolai/Murray Louis Dance Company, Marc Ribot, Frank London and Sammy Davis Jr. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden, The Blue Note, The Stone, CBGB’s, the Colosseum (Rome) and for strippers at a truckers’ convention.
