UKRAINE FREEDOM! is a 3-day celebration of Ukrainian music and culture, providing a platform for visceral reaction to today’s events from multiple artistic perspectives as well as a fresh look at Ukraine's musical roots and identity. Featuring over 20 artists including Julian Kytasty – the preeminent practitioner of the Ukrainian kobzar tradition in North America, Moscow Conservatory-trained pianist Pavlo Gintov, whose thoughtful exploration of forgotten and suppressed Ukrainian composers has drawn praise in Europe and Japan, Canadian violinist Lara St. John, video contributions from musicians who are currently in Ukraine, electro-acoustic works by living Ukrainian composers, an improvised set by Frank London of The Klezmatics with groundbreaking jazz pianist Anthony Coleman and drummer Rob Garcia and much more. Curated by Alex Pryrodny. 100% proceeds from the event will be donated to Razom for Ukraine.
