The Outer Bridge Ensemble

0075For the last decade, the Outer Bridge Ensemble (OBE) has been rocking festival stages and jazz venues across North America and Europe. They will share their experimental sounds at Soapbox Gallery on July 27th at 8pm.

OBE uses American jazz as its backbone and incorporates the vitality of contemporary and world music to drive the ensuing musical journey. The journey? A sound that is tight as it is complex, at times playful or contemplative. OBE’s shifting rhythmic meters and unique instrumentation shed a spotlight on just how accomplished its players are. Don’t miss this one-night engagement of pitch-perfect experimentation and groove!

Their latest recording is to be released in January, “Determined.” OBE has opened for John Scofield, Christian McBride, Roy Hargrove and The Bad Plus. Individually, OBE members have played with Steven Bernstein, Ray Charles, Sonny Rollins, Hank Jones, Sean Jones, Billy Martin of Medeski Martin and Wood, the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, and many others.
