Soapbox is excited to present a brand new series; ‘Couples in Harmony’. A collection of short conversations and concerts, concerning the issues of our time. ‘Couples in Harmony’ will explore the lives of working coupled musicians in lockdown, how they cope and how they manage to remain focused, disciplined, and find the space in their homes and hearts to continue their creative paths forward. South African chanteuse, Melanie Scholtz and award winning multi instrumentalist, Brian Charette, have joined forces artistically and personally. The husband and wife team have a duo called Homeland that combines both of their musical experiences to make soulful, interpretations of folk music from around the world. Charette is a Downbeat Critic's Poll winner who plays piano, synth and supplies funky beats from classic drum machines. Scholtz is a consummate performer who loops in the clicking South African language, Xhosa as well as many other languages. Think Eurythmics meets Fela Kuti.
