Soapbox is excited to present a brand new series; ‘Couples in Harmony’. A collection of short conversations and concerts, concerning the issues of our time. ‘Couples in Harmony’ will explore the lives of working coupled musicians in lockdown, how they cope and how they manage to remain focused, disciplined, and find the space in their homes and hearts to continue their creative paths forward. Gray Moon/When Soft Rains Fall
Originally from Helsinki, Finland, Frank Carlberg has carved himself quite a niche in the New York City jazz community. His groups include Frank Carlberg's Word Circus, The Frank Carlberg Large Ensemble, Tivoli Trio and he has performed with the likes of Steve Lacy, Kenny Wheeler, Bob Brookmeyer etc. In addition to his playing and composing he serves on the faculty of New England Conservatory.
Vocalist Christine Correa is a native of Bombay, India currently residing in Brooklyn, New York. Christine has performed and recorded with artists such as Ran Blake, Steve Lacy and John LaPorta and has appeared at numerous festivals and clubs in the U.S., Europe, South America and India. Christine has also been featured on projects by composers Frank Carlberg, Steve Grover, Sam Sadigursky, Nicholas Urie, Guillaume Orti and Laurent Coq. Christine’s many other collaborators include John Hebert, Chris Cheek, Michael Sarin, Chris Speed, Ben Street, Kenny Wollesen and John O’Gallagher, among others.
