Eugenia Choe, a Korean-American jazz pianist and composer, is one of the most respected musicians in her community and regularly performs in New York City and abroad. Having spent her early childhood in South Korea and her formative years in L.A., Atlanta, Chicago, and New York, Eugenia has developed an intimate connection with different musical cultures. This has helped her cultivate a unique style of composition and improvisation. Since her successful debut album in 2016, Eugenia has been signed as an artist with SteepleChase Records. Yuhan Su, a Taiwanese vibraphonist based in New York, has recently embarked on a new duo project with Eugenia. Their compositions incorporate elements of classical and jazz harmony, along with modern jazz rhythmic aspects. The duo creates a full sound and adds intriguing layers in intimate settings. For their debut performance at the Soapbox Gallery, they will be joined by Songyi Jeon, a participant in the Rolex Arts Initiative Mentor & Protégé 23-24 program and a Music Protégé who will be working closely with five-time Grammy winner Ms. Dianne Reeves.
