Palliative Jazz for Margo is a program of original tunes by John McQueeney, devised to entertain his wife Margo while she was trapped at home recovering from treatments for pancreatic cancer. 100% of the door is for CaringBridge.org a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. CaringBridge is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. John McQueeney (sax) is a longtime music business vet and the leader of the primitive fusion combo Combat Jazz. Accompanying John is Carl Maguire (piano) - Composer and pianist and piano teacher and transcriber; Carl studied with Roscoe Mitchell, Fred Hersch and Marilyn Crispell, Carl has played in Floriculture with Trevor Dunn and Dan Weiss and was a member of Brett Sroka's Ergo and Butch Morris Skyscraper; Kurt Hoffman (sax) was co-leader of NYC's 80's ensemble The Ordinaires; sideman for They Might Be Giants; Composer of the NPR Weekend Edition Theme; and now co-leads France 1930's swing influenced emsemble, Les Chaud Lapins; John Turner (JT) (trumpet) sideman to some great 90's groups like indie-popsters Ivy and lounge band Love Jones. John has a weekly live internet trumpet performance show (over 200 episodes) called JohnT in NYC on Mixcloud and he's played more than 4,000 songs.
