MATT KANE is a jazz drummer, composer, bandleader, and educator who, like his literary hero, Mark Twain, grew up surrounded by corn fields in Hannibal, Missouri. He cut his teeth in the Kansas City jazz scene before heading to New York City eight years later where his tenacity led him into another respectable scene. Song Poems is his fifth album—featuring all original compositions—and features brilliant pianist Yayoi Ikawa and legendary bassist Steve LaSpina. It features a wide swath of rhythm and melody bound together in Kane’s signature Americana sound. The songs are singable, relatable, and danceable, appealing to both bonafide jazz fans and universal music lovers. Learn more at www.mattkanemusic.com.
