Born in Houston, Texas, and raised in California, Pamela Laws is a singer-songwriter and composer who has teamed up with long-time collaborator, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, Jack Petruzzelli (Patti Smith, Rufus Wainwright, Joan Osborne), Levon Helm recording engineer, Justin Guip and co-writer Adam Bernstein. Pamela has created an alchemical trove of new songs that go far beyond her rock, pop, and country influences. Weaving in Pamela’s Texas and California Americana roots, Petruzzelli’s powerful, sometimes orchestral guitars, and guest musicians that include Bob Dylan’s Larry Campbell and Cindy Cashdollar, the songs promise to be the best company in the clubs or driving down the road.
Before signing with Warner Brothers and Warner Chappell, Pamela sang background vocals for Counting Crows. After 2 major label releases, Pamela had a role in a WB film called Mad City, played a folk singer and sang the theme song written by Lou Reed called “ Is Anybody Listening?”
With four studio albums under her belt, including High West EP (released 7/29/22), Pamela Laws takes the stage again as her latest single, Dry My Tears, is released and her new album, The Ones I Love, is on the way.
Interview Magazine says, “Lucky for New Yorkers, she’s the real thing. Laws blends her experiences with pop, jazz, rock and folk. … her tiny speaking voice belies the big belting, sometimes booming onstage sound and persona.” Richard Pandiscio.
