Tomoko Omura Solo Violin 'Live Streaming'

Tomoko Omura is a jazz violinist/composer currently living in Brooklyn, NY. While being a part of numerous jazz projects in New York, she leads her own groups (Roots Quintet and Post Bop Gypsies) and is an active performer internationally. She has released three albums as a leader, including the latest “Post Bop Gypsies” (2017). Her 2nd jazz album, “Roots”, includes unique arrangements of Japanese folk/popular songs was released from Greg Osby's label, Inner Circle Music in 2015 with critical acclaim, receiving 4.5 star from Downbeat Magazine. 

Originally from Shizuoka, Japan, she began playing the violin at 4 and moved to the U.S. to study at Berklee College of Music in 2004. She is a recipient of “Roy Haynes Award” while at Berklee and was also featured as a Rising Star in the June 2009 edition of Strings magazine. 
She has performed with a wide range of musicians including, Paquito D'Rivera, Fabian Almazan, Camila Meza, Joanna Wallfisch, Aubrey Johnson, Annie Chen, Laurence Hobgood, Vadim Neselovskyi, The Mahavishnu Project, Guy Mendilow, RUNA and Carte Blanche.
She has been listed as a Rising star violinist on Downbeat Magazine, critics poll for the last consecutive 5 years since 2015.
